Members of CAW Local 414 employed by Pharma Plus Drugmarts have overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year collective agreement.  Local 414 represents workers in 21 drug stores scattered throughout the City of Ottawa.

The bargaining committee successfully fought concession demands from the employer on working conditions and job security and instead negotiated increased wages and language improvements.

The 330 full-time and part-time workers get 40 cents per hour retroactive to June 5 and 40 cents in each of the next two years.

"The Unit Chairperson, Kelly Lynn and the bargaining committee, Ann Adams, Sonya Marhurin, Marilyn Astley, and Betty Campbell worked very hard on behalf of their members and were very impressive in their knowledge of the issues and their industry. They steadfastly opposed concessions proposed by the employer," said Harry Ghadban, CAW Eastern Ontario Director.
