ITF General Secretary David Cockroft to Retire

The General Secretary of the International Transport Workers' Federation will retire at the end of May 2013 when he reaches the age of 60.
David Cockcroft said that next year he will have been chief executive officer of the ITF, a global union federation for 20 years. The ITF executive board has appointed Stephen Cotton, the current ITF maritime coordinator, as acting general secretary, upon Cockroft's retirement.
The CAW is a member union of the ITF, which is made up of 708 unions representing over 4.5 million transport workers in 154 countries.
